Founder Speech

Professor Choudhury was born in Khashila and educated to class four at Khasila Primary School. In July 1975, after the liberation war, he with his mother and only brother went to the United Kingdom to join his father, Late Al-Hajj Allāmah Mohammed Shafiqul Islam Choudhury.

Professor Choudhury studied in the UK, obtained a degree in Accounting and Finance from Thames Valley University, London, became a Chartered Accountant (both ICAEW and ICAB), obtained a PhD in Finance from the University of Exeter (Exon), has worked for both UKand European business institutions and governmental bodies, including the World Bank and IMF.

From 2001 to 2006 he was a World Bank consultant at Bangladesh Central Bank, Motijheel, under the Central Bank Strengthening Project.

Throughout his life he and his family have supported philanthropic project both in Bangladesh, UK and Africa.

He is the founder of the Late Al Hajj Allāmah Mohammed Montaz Uddin Choudhury Junior and High School, named after his grandfather and the Late Al Hajj Allāmah Mohammed Shafiqul Islam Choudhury Madrash and Masjid.
